An Exmouth bank’s mission to raise much-needed funds for a lifeline charity has raised more than £2,000 for the cause.

TSB Exmouth, in The Strand, recently named Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare as its dedicated charity - and the bank’s latest cake and coffee morning raised £103.

Bank staff also championed the charity’s Bring a £1 Day, encouraging businesses, individuals and groups to each donate cash.

TSB Exmouth’s efforts for Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare – where every penny raised in the EX8 area stays in the EX8 area – has so far raised £2,611.

Clare Tate and Rachael Clements, branch managers at TSB in Exmouth, said: “It is fantastic to hear first hand how our partnership with Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare is helping them to provide more support to our local community.

“Our team in Exmouth thoroughly enjoys getting stuck into fundraising activities and it’s really rewarding to see the impact that it’s having.”

Lynne Elson, Hospiscare Exmouth and Lympstone administrator, said: “It’s been great to meet the TSB partners and customers in Exmouth who have been so generously supporting us this year.”

The cake and coffee morning was held as part of TSB’s partnership week, a national event supporting 500 local causes.

Recently, the bank moved away from a UK-wide chosen charity of the year, with branches picking their own local charity to support.
