Casualties of a two-coach crash on the A376 at Clyst St George, on Thursday afternoon, were treated at the scene by the emergency services.

Police, the fire service and paramedics were called to the dual carriageway, near the fire service roundabout, at around 3.15pm after coaches reported to be transporting school children were involved in a collision.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the ambulance service treated four casualties for minor injuries.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “There was a road traffic collision involving two coaches. Everyone was clear and free of the vehicles.

“Four persons were treated for minor cuts and abrasions and whiplash by ambulance personnel.”

The fire service warned of anti-freeze on the road, at the site of the collision.
