A blueprint document which sets out how Clyst St George should look in years to come has been backed by the community.

One in every four residents went to the polls to decide if the village’s neighbourhood plan should be accepted with
more than 90 per cent saying

The plan sets out policies
for future development in
Clyst St George and, once
East Devon District Council (EDDC) has ‘made’ the
document, will help to inform future decisions about development and planning applications.

The questioned posed to voters was ‘Do you want EDDC to use the neighbourhood plan for the parish to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

Of the 25 per cent turnout, 93 per cent voted in favour.

Councillor Bruce de Saram EDDC lead councillor
for neighbourhood planning, said: “I was very pleased
to see how well the neighbourhood plans were supported in the recent referendums.”
