MANY hands made light work of the continuing clear up at Budleigh Salterton's Cricket Club. The members teamed up with house manager Steve Richardson to form a working party in the latest in a long line of clubhouse clean-ups after flood water twice submerged the building.Last weekend members were out in force cleaning up the pavilion in readiness for the redecoration to begin in a couple of weeks' time. The volunteers also got stuck into spreading 20-tons of gravel in the car park after floodwater washed the surface away.Club secretary Kevin Curran said: "The clean-up went well. It was a very cold day which probably reduced the number we were hoping for."We have cleaned a lot of the club out and the next stage is the redecoration."We have got to get the bar area sorted out in conjunction with the brewery."We have also got to spread some more gravel, which we will do over the next couple of weeks."We are determined to be open for April and the new season."The clubhouse was submerged up to its roof in floodwater at the end of October 2008 and a month later it was hit again when the River Otter re-burst its banks.
