Church to pursue revised expansion plan

ST Peter’s Church is to go ahead with plans for an extension – but on a smaller scale than originally planned.
The church held a public exhibition last weekend to discuss how it could best meet a need for more office space and meeting rooms.
Two plans were shown – one an extension to the north of the church, and the other a rearrangement of space at the rear of the worship area.
After comments from the public, church leaders have now decided to pursue a third option – a small extension near the choir vestry to better link the church with the Peter Hall.
The church will now be going back to its architects, with new plans expected to be available in around three or four weeks.
The Reverend Anne Charlton said: “We had a lot of people turn up with a lot of interest in it, put all their comments together and came up with the new plan.”
