May I, through the Journal, express my personal appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Choir 97, who, under their talented musical director Marion Room, gave a wonderful performance of The Messiah at the warm and welcoming Tower Street Methodist Church, with all proceeds benefiting Macmillan Cancer Support nurses and doctors at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. Not only was this an uplifting and splendid performance, with a choir of 100 members, and talented soloists, but Macmillan was presented with a cheque for £1,000 as a result. This was a magnificent outcome and I would like to thank everyone involved with the performance and last, but most certainly not least, those members of the audience who turned out on a freezing night and whose hearts can only have been warmed by the dedication and enthusiasm of this splendid choir. Thank you so much everyone. Exmouth are very fortunate to have Choir 97!Mary Thomas,Macmillan Cancer Support (Exeter).
