Pensioners’ choice - food and heating or a week’s holiday? Council’s choice - Strand pavilion or social services?
Yes, I know the “elected ones” will plead it is a different budget, but it is all taxpayers’ money and I do not hear many taxpayers in favour of the Strand proposal.
By the way, who is going to operate the cafe with so much surrounding competition? Leisure services, possibly subsidised by the taxpayer, or an entrepreneur who will pull out when the going gets tough?
