People visiting a Topsham-based farm shop were being asked to test their taste buds as part of a chilli tasting test.

Darts Farm, in partnership with South Devon Chilli Farm, was urging customers to take on the chilli challenge.

People who were willing to take it on started with mildest variety of chilli, working their way up to the spiciest.

When they could not take any more, they were asked to add their names to a board which had been set up for the occasion.

A spokesman for Darts Farm said: “I think it was really successful, for those who haven’t done something like this before, it’s a case of how hot can I take it?

“We have quite a long relationship with South Devon Chilli Farm and, after the success of last year’s event, we invited them back.”

The challenge formed part of the farm shop’s annual two day chilli lover’s event which also featured information for people on how to cook with the spicy pepper.
