LYMPSTONE charity worker, Peter Bond, has been honored by the troops he has been collecting for in Afghanistan.
Peter, of Glebelands, the South West Coordinator for Save Our Soldiers, and his helpers have collected money and gifts since 2007 for service personnel serving abroad.
In two years almost 2,000 for his work supported welfare parcels have been sent.
The Armoured Support Group, Royal Marines (ASGRM Viking Group) awarded Peter a special shield as a thank you for the continued support given to Royal Marines and Army units.
The Christmas Candle of Hope Appeal 2009 has so far sent 500 parcels to service personnel serving overseas this year.
