At least 40 friends and three generations of family turned out to celebrate the 100th birthday of Exmouth's newest centenarian, Harry Wilkes.
Harry has been living in the Amberwood Nursing Home in Exeter Road recently.
A former RAF man, he originally moved from Wales to Lympstone in 2003 with his late wife Mona, to live with his daughter Maureen and son-in-law Vic.
He told the Journal that he has ‘enjoyed his retirement’ in Devon.
The party was celebrated with family and friends including his grandchildren Sian and husband Tom, Leighton and wife Rosanna and his great-grandchildren Tom and Jacob.
Harry enjoyed a cake, champagne and received two letters, one from the Queen and one from the Government, congratulating him on his milestone.
Angela Rook, of Amberwood, said: “It was a very happy occasion and the family would like to thank all the staff for their care and support.
“Harry is a very nice man and very popular. Congratulations Harry!”
