A call has been made for new members by a youth theatre group in town.

With lockdown restrictions easing, there is ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ for theatre groups like Centre Stage.

Now the group is offering people the chance to audition to become members of the group.

Auditions will take place on Friday, April 16, at Brixington Primary School, under covid restrictions.

Performances have had to stop for the last 12 months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesman for Centre Stage said: “We have a very exciting programme ahead as it is the company's 50th anniversary concert in July with more than 100 past members returning to perform in what promises to be a spectacular celebration of fifty years of talent.”

Rehearsals for its performance of Kipps – the new Half a Sixpence Musical begin ‘immediately’ in what will be Centre Stage’s ‘all signing, all dancing’ return.
