Celebrations were held this week at The Exmouth Children’s Centre when staff were presented with an award which recognised their work in giving every child a say.

The Children’s Participation Charter silver award was presented by Damian Allen, the children and young people’s director at The Children’s Society.

Jemma Hickman, early years professional at Exmouth Children’s Centre, said: “This award celebrates the work we do at the Exmouth Children’s Centre to ensure that children’s voices are heard within all of our groups.

“The centres are laid out in a way that enables babies and children to make choices about activities and resources.”

Attending the event were staff, children, parents and volunteers from the Children’s Centre as well as representatives from the public health team, Devon County Council and Exmouth Town Council.
