MORE than 1800 was raised for to improve a ward at Budleigh Salterton Hospital at this year’s League of Friends annual fete.

The fete, in the grounds of the hospital, saw hundreds of people turnout to enjoy the day and raise 1836 for the Cowdry Ward.

Organisers have praised local businesses who donated prizes at the raffle and Dr David Evans, Chairman Budleigh Salterton Hospital League of Friends, said: “The Chairman and committee of the League of Friends of Budleigh Salterton Hospital would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our Fete.

“The sum of 1836 was raised, and this will be used to make a significant improvement to Cowdry Ward. It is gratifying to see charitable money used in such a positive manner. The generosity of the community is greatly appreciated.”
