EXMOUTH Town Council will consider a request for funding to improve Brixington bus stops on the outskirts of town as representatives of Exmouth's elderly call for better facilities. The Exmouth and District branch of the Senior Council for Devon have thrown their hat in the ring for neighbourhood project funds to pay for paved bus stops. The Senior Council argue that grass verge bus stops along Dinan Way and Hulham Road are treacherous and difficult to negotiate for the elderly and infirm. In a letter to the Town Council, Senior Council branch treasurer Ron Roberts states: "Bus users either step on or off from a grassy, muddy verge directly onto the road surface. This is not acceptable for the elderly, infirm, or passengers with pushchairs."Town councillors will debate the request at Monday's Town Hall meeting, at 7.30pm.
