Budleigh Salterton Lions Club has donated vital funds towards hospital equipment, which could help to save lives.

A fundraising campaign launched to help buy new machines in the neurological Bolham Ward at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital raised £3,500.

The campaign was launched by Barbara Tilbury, whose son Patrick died while in the Bolham Ward.

The lions donated £250 towards the cause.

The matron, Anny Willett, was delighted with the cheque and the hospital is now able to purchase the equipment.

She said “On behalf of Bolham Ward, I would like to thank Patrick’s family and friends for this very kind donation. It will benefit every patient on our ward, so it will invaluable to us.”
