An Exmouth charity is celebrating after receiving a £300 donation.

Pete’s Dragons offers support to bereaved families, partners and friends living through a suicide of a loved one.

This includes providing hampers and financial assistance, and the charity is also hoping to soon provide free seaside respite holidays in Exmouth.

The charity has received the donation from the GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund, having been selected for a donation from thousands of entries as a ‘warm-hearted’ community project.

Charity founder Alison Hill said: “We set up Pete’s Dragons after my brother took his own life. I wanted to help others going through a similar experience and I quickly found that many people needed support.

“In our latest project, we hope to give families who have suffered a bereavement a chance to get away together.

“This donation from the GALAXY Hot Chocolate Fund will help to furnish our seaside holiday home.”
