CIVIC leaders have called for a debate on car parking in Exmouth after learning that district council intended to hold a full review without a town council discussion first.
At the town hall's full council meeting on Monday councillors where irritated that EDDC and Councillor Peter Halse portfolio holder economy were going to start a review without a town hall debate.
Councillor Mark Williamson said: "Will we be having a debate on this?
"I really would like to have a full discussion. There are things that concern me...
"Free public parking at Exmouth events is one thing...I'm very disappointed by EDDC on this."
Trevor Cope: "I think this in an opportunity to talk about other car park related issues including a debate on the multi-storey car park."
Mayor Darryl Nicholas said: "This is an opportunity to discuss the present and sit down and map out the future.
