Car destroyed by fire following Budleigh two-vehicle collision

A car involved in a two-car crash near Budleigh Salterton on Monday afternoon was completely destroyed by fire.

Firefighters from Exmouth were called to the Ting Tong bends at around 2pm, after reports two cars collided and caught fire.

The fire service said everyone was free and clear of the vehicles when the fire crews arrived.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the vehicle blazes then damped down the area.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “One car was 100 per cent damaged by impact and fire, the second car was 50 per cent damaged by the impact.”

Paramedics and police were also called to the scene.
