HUGO Swire, MP for East Devon, has lodged a complaint about dealers parking second cars on Salterton Road without permission.
According to the town council minutes Mr Swire has written to planning enforcers at East Devon District Council about his concerns.
The agenda reads: "...the planning enforcement team are aware of the situation and have visited Salterton Road numerous times from January 2006 in relation to the car sales issue.
"They have found it has been difficult to prove that the seller is operating a business."
It added that the site will be visited again and letters will be placed on the cars for sale and depending on the outcome a view will then be taken as to whether there is enough evidence to prosecute.
