Car and road sweeper involved in fire

Fire crews were called out overnight to attend a vehicle fire in Topsham.

Two fire appliances from Topsham and one from Middlemoor attended the incident in Clyst Road at 4.22am.

On arrival crews confirmed there was a fire involving a road sweeper and a car, which was extinguished by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the cause of the fire was accidental.
