Barbara McArthur was on hand for the unveiling of the speaking cut-out, which is promoting Cancer Research UK’s Free Will service, at the charity’s shop in The Parade.

Barbara, from Newton Poppleford, has used the service to include a gift to the charity in her will, and her cardboard likeness invites people to find out more about doing the same.

The service, for which the charity works in partnership with solicitors, allows people aged 55 and over to write or update a simple will.

There is no obligation to make a donation to the charity.

Barbara will also be attending a free event at Sidmouth Science Festival, on October 4, at Sidmouth Parish Church, where Dr Alexa Bishop will be discussing the future of cancer therapy.
