Residents dusted off their boats and canoes to join in with the community event in Exmouth.

A ‘street party on water’ attracted residents from Camperdown Terrace for a fundraising event.

The fun raised more than £200 for the 5th St Andrew’s Sea Scouts.

Louis Collins, eight, and sister Sophie, 11, were visiting their grandparents Geoff Skinner and Maggie Richardson.

They said: “This [regatta] involved many water sports, including rowing races, paddle boarding, swimming and a raft race. We all had so much fun taking part and building our own rafts - it was such a laugh. Afterwards everyone got together for the awards ceremony, where lots of people were presented with beautiful hand-decorated medals made from scallop shells. Shortly after that, a fabulous jazz band played while we had a barbecue and roasted marshmallows on the bonfire. This was all because of the amazing adults who made everything happen.”
