Campaign for ASDA at Rolle
With the demise of an educational facility on Rolle College campus, is it time to start a campaign now for an ASDA on the site?

Sad as it is to see the site fall further into disrepair, something needs to be done swiftly to kickstart the economy of our town.
Currently, having two unemployed adults in my family, it leads me to suggest that opening a new supermarket here would lead to job opportunities for many, not currently available in our town.
Furthermore, I believe this would lead to people visiting the town, rather than detracting from its economy.
I know of many residents who currently travel to Newton Abbot and Exeter to avoid shopping at Tesco monopoly. In any case, there are currently so few shops in the town, once you take Tesco and charity shops out of the equation.
Iceland - welcome as it is - has been put in entirely the wrong place, having no car park, trollies which cannot leave the store and parking blocking the bus stops and stopping traffic flow.

Road access and traffic infrastructure is already in place on the Rolle site, allowing easy vehicle access for lorries and cars. It is walking distance from the town, so would not take business away from traders, other than possibly Tesco.
So who is up for a campaign - No ASDA on the Exe, ASDA on The Avenues!!! NOW.
