The camel saddle is the object of the month at Exmouth's National Trust property, A la Ronde.

Often suffering from mistaken identity, the stool often finds itself the centre of debate by visitors.

The camel saddle was brought back to Exmouth from Egypt by Stella Tudor-Perkins, who performed with the Entertainments National Service Association (ENSA), during the Second World War.

Lesley Strong, property administrator, said: "It has been mistaken for many unusual items including a birthing stool.
