Volunteers are urgently needed at East Budleigh's community shop, and as a result the shop is closing an hour earlier, at 6pm. Read this and more.

EXTENSION: Plans by householders to build a two-storey and single-storey rear extension at 5A Cliff Terrace have not been backed by the town council.

They have concerns that the plans would be overdevelopment of the site and the increased size of the building would be detrimental to the conservation area.

Councillors also had doubts if the owner of the ground floor property would support the extension.

The plans will be decided by East Devon District Council.


CHRISTMAS FAIR: St Peters School, Budleigh Salterton. Friday, November 30 5pm-7:30pm.

COMMUNITY SHOP: Volunteers are urgently needed at East Budleigh’s community shop, and as a result the shop is closing an hour earlier, at 6pm.

Sue Marshall said: “Unfortunately people are not coming forward and after several volunteers are moving away we find ourselves in a difficult position.

“This seems the least painful way to deal with the problem.”

She added: “If you are over 18, because we sell cigarettes,we would love to see you and it would look good on your CV.”

DUKES ROAD: Plans for a first floor rear extension and front infill at 15 Dukes Road Budleigh Salterton has been filed with district planners.


EAST BUDLEIGH: Plans to retain an existing home at Wildflowers, 21 East Budleigh Road Budleigh Salterton and build four extra elderly persons homes within the site have been submitted to the district council.
