The owner of a vintage-style tea shop in Budleigh Salterton has spoken of his delight at being put forward for a regional award.

Tea and Tittle Tattle has, for the sixth year in succession, been given the gold Taste of the West award.

This year, the Budleigh business has also been put forward as a finalist in the tea-room/café category.

Co-owner Gareth Radley, said the business is hoping to be chosen as the best tea-room/café in the South West at the finals next month.

He said: “We’re really chuffed with the gold award, but were really excited to be a finalist.

“We got to be a finalist two or three years ago and this year we’re hoping to go a stage better.”

Titley Green, in Colaton Raleigh, has also been put forward for the finals in the ‘Local Food to Go’ category, while Budleigh’s Vanilla Sky also received a gold award.
