Last year the hunt was on to find the town's royal family for the carnival club's float.
Budleigh has again begun the hunt for its royal family - but this year it hopes to find a Gala Granny to join its throng.
As the competition is once again organised by the Budleigh Salterton Carnival Club, the royal family - with its newest member - will be entered in various local carnivals in the royal coach.
The competition is open to all, with the winner collecting most sponsorship in each category.
All entrants will receive one third of all the money they collect as prize money.
