Budleigh Salterton’s new ‘health hub’ to be celebrated at hospital League of Friends’ AGM

The League of Friends of Budleigh Salterton Hospital is holding a special annual general meeting on Friday (June 9).
It will take place at 2.30pm at the Public Hall, Station Road, and is being heralded as ‘a celebration’ of the new health and wellbeing hub being opened later this year.
The hub is being built on the site of the former Budleigh Hospital following four years of negotiations with NHS clinical commissioning groups and trusts.
The go-ahead was given earlier this year after project leaders agreed terms with NHS Property Services, which had been tasked with obtaining a commercial rent from the building.
Mary Nisbett, chief executive of Westbank, which will manage the hub, will be speaking at the meeting.
Dr David Evans, who celebrates 10 years as chairman of the league of friends this year, will host the meeting.
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
