Members agreed replacing the gate, to include railings either side, could go ahead because it would not affect neighbouring properties.
PLANS to carry out alterations to front windows at 7 High Street, Budleigh Salterton, have won the approval of the district council.
Members said the work would not affect the character or look of the area.
