YEARS of hard work and dedication from a group of Budleigh Salterton teenagers will tomorrow pay off as the town's much-awaited youth club opens its doors.
The doors to the Venture Hall, in Moor Lane, open on April 23 from 7.30pm-9pm, where a host of games, activities, refreshments, fun and advice awaits youngsters aged 13-18 years old.
Tomorrow's launch session is free and a small weekly charge will be made once membership is established.
The club, run by the Budleigh Community Youth Project, is the brainchild of Robyn Whittaker and twin sisters Claire and Racheal Haystier, who in early 2007 teamed up with then Budleigh policeman PC Kim Chapman to set up a venue that would help keep teenagers off the streets during the evening.
District councillor Malcolm Florey, who is on the charity's committee, said: "They have shown real commitment. They got frustrated at times because it was taking a long time. But they should be justifiably proud of what they have achieved.
