Budleigh Salterton Lions Club raise cash for South African hospital
BUDLEIGH Salterton Lions Club has thanked everyone who supported its recent fundraising activities in aid of the Good Shepherd Hospital, in Swaziland.
BUDLEIGH Salterton Lions Club has thanked everyone who supported its recent fundraising activities in aid of the Good Shepherd Hospital, in Swaziland.
The Lions Club has for several years sent monthly payments to the hospital to buy essential equipment.
The latest events raised �1,303 for the hospital which cares for orphans and those suffering from HIV and Aids.
Lion Geoff Paver said: "This will enable us to continue to send them �80 per month and a start to raise enough to buy the next piece of equipment that the surgeon desperately needs - a burr hole set."

The Lions are now gearing up for their next round of fundraising events.
The club's annual golf charity day takes place on Thursday August 27 at East Devon Golf Club in aid of the FORCE cancer charity.

All are welcome in the evening at 7.30 pm. for an auction.
On August 31, Bank Holiday Monday, the club holds its 11th annual balloon race, barbecue and stalls along Budleigh Salterton seafront.
The funds raised go towards the Lion's campaign to provide Medic
Alert pendants and bracelets.
The event, from 10am until 5pm, promises more stalls than ever.
