A 23-year-old Portsmouth man on a 7,000-mile charity challenge has included Budleigh Salterton in his epic 340-day walk.

Nat Severs, a 23-year-old zoology graduate from Portsmouth, is currently walking around the entire coastline of mainland Britain and on Saturday completed the Budleigh Salterton stretch of his journey before heading onto Exmouth.

Nat aims to raise as much money as possible through sponsorship for the Stroke Association, the Mammal Society and Southampton General Hospital's paediatric physiotherapy department.

He hopes to raise at least 1,000 for each charity and enough cash to help fund a new rehabilitation chair for Southampton Hospital for under-fives who have suffered acute brain injuries.

Nat said: "I had the idea for the walk a few years ago and I have now reached a point in my life where I can make it a reality.

"Britain boasts some of the best coastline in the world and it is a privilege to be able to walk along it each day."

Nat set out from Portsmouth on January 10, with just a large rucksack carrying his tent and kit and plans to complete the entire trip on foot.
