BUDLEIGH Salterton beach provided an atmospheric backdrop to World Dance Day celebrations when last Friday a group of dancers performed on the pebbles at Steamer Steps.
The group braved the mist and rain to join forces with yoga dance teacher Michelle Wilkinson.
Dance performances took place throughout the country, including Exmouth.
East Devon dancer Michelle Wilkinson said: "I took part in World Dance Day 2010 as it brought my community yoga dance groups out of the studio and onto the local beaches.
"Here the group participants could express their physical shouts through a standing movement meditation.
"Their movements were echoed in the many other dances throughout Devon, the UK and the world.
"There was a wonderful sense of unity as we all celebrated the magic and joy of dance.
