A Budleigh Salterton mum had her head shaved to raise money for the charity which helped her mother.

Jude Sage, 57, of Brook Road, took part in the sponsored head shave at the King Billy pub, High Street, on Saturday (January 28).

Caroline, from Barbers, also in High Street, cut Jude’s hair, with more than £200 going to Budleigh Salterton and District Hospiscare with sponsorship money still to come in.

The charity looked after Jude’s mother while she was ill.

Jude said: “My mum spent a week in Exmouth hospice when she was very ill – I’m very pleased with the total we have raised so far.

“I always had a lot of hair and I thought now was the time.

“I am a gardener by trade so we look to keep our hair fairly short.”
