Budleigh Salterton remember those who had fought in the Battle of Britain when a service was held at the war memorial
Don Pappworth, a veteran of World War Two, was among many who remembered those who had lost their lives for their country, when he laid a wreath on behalf of the town.
Many were taken back in time when a recording of Winston Churchill speaking was played.
Budleigh Salterton Poppy Appeal organiser Glenn Sismore-Hunt said: “It’s nice that people turn up and just stand there and remember. It was nice to see Don there as our president of the British Legion.”
The ceremony was followed by a short service.
