Residents in Budleigh Salterton have been urged to use the postbox at the Co-op after the sorting office officially closed its doors and the collection box was sealed.

People wanting to post letters or cards were unable to use the postbox at the sorting office this week after operations were moved to the office in Exmouth.

A spokesman for Royal Mail said: “The postbox was sealed up as this was a wall box and the only access to collecting the mail is from the inside of the building, which is now closed.

“We apologise to customers for the inconvenience and would advise customers that there are several postboxes close by, one within 100 yards of the former postbox, in the High Street by the Co-operative store.”
