Budleigh Salterton’s Poppy Appeal is set to be launched on Saturday (October 28) at 10am from its new temporary home in High Street.

Budleigh Salterton’s Poppy Appeal will be launched this Saturday (October 28) from their new shop.

Organisers say that this year, the Poppy Appeal will be based out of a shop in High Street which used to be a wedding shop.

Previously the appeal has been allowed to use an empty shop in The Lawn which is now occupied by Findlay Wines.

The Poppy Appeal volunteers will be holding a launch event on Saturday at 10am to officially mark the start of this year’s campaign.

The national appeal supports servicemen and woman and families those who have died in conflict.

On Sunday, November 12, a wreath will be laid at the War Memorial, in Coastguard Hill, as part of remembrance weekend.

The wreath will be laid at 2pm and followed by a parade through the town.
