The annual Budleigh Salterton Lions Club golf day, at East Devon Golf Club, has raised more than £4,200 for regional causes.

An annual sporting challenge held by Budleigh Salterton Lions Club has raised vital funds for regional causes.

The club held its yearly golf day at East Devon Golf Club, Links Road.

An auction held at the event raised more than £4,200 in the process.

A total of 28 teams took part in the charity event with the team ‘Blakey’s Bandits’ coming out on top with a total of 92 points under the Stableford scoring system.

A spokesman for the lions club said: “The day was a great success. The weather allowed for some top golf to be played and the scores were high and close at the top.”

The lions will be holding their annual duck race on the River Otter on Sunday, September 24.

Starting from Clamour Bridge at 1.30am the ducks will race to White Bridge with a first prize of £200 and a second prize of £100.
