MEMBERS of Budleigh Salterton Lions Club have scored a hole in one as far as one grateful charity is concerned after they presented them with a sizeable donation.

Lion president Jack Keen and event coordination representative Geoff Pave have handed Alison Palfrey from Hospiscare with a cheque for £4,041.65 – proceeds raised from the club’s annual charity golf day held at East Devon Golf Club.

Next year’s charity event, in aid of Help for Heroes, will be held on Thursday, August 25.

Anyone interested in entering a team should contact Geoff Pave on (01395) 445298.

The Lions Club, meanwhile, will hold a cash bingo event for The Little Otter Play Group on Wednesday, November 10. Eyes down at 7.30pm.

A coffee morning will be held on Saturday, November 20, from 10am until 12noon. There will be a variety of stalls. Entrance is 10p.

And, a Christmas bingo event takes place on Wednesday, December 1. Doors open at 6pm.
