There’s a new president at Budleigh Salterton Lions Club.

Peter Holmes has taken over the helm after Alan Tilbury served his two-year term.

Richard Allen will serve as Peter’s vice-president for the next 24 months after both served as understudies last year.

The handover ceremony took place at the Dog and Donkey, in Knowle Village.

More than 60 members, with wives and partners, attended
to see the official chain of office handed from Alan to Peter.

The Lions’ next bingo event will be taking place at the Public Hall, Station Road, on Wednesday, August 8, in aid of the town’s Christmas lights.

The hall will be open from 6pm with eyes down from 7.30pm.

The club’s annual charity golf day will be taking place on Thursday, August 24, at East Devon Golf Club.
