Budleigh Salterton Lions Club held a sea front fayre with around 27 charities and organisations holding stalls.

A sea front fayre held by Budleigh Salterton Lions Club has been declared a success, benefitting a host of charities and local groups.

Around 27 charities and organisations set up stalls at the event held on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28).

Budleigh Salterton Lions Club raised £1,388 for its own funds.

A treasure hunt, which gave people the chance to pick a pin out of a map of the UK, for the chance to win £150, was scooped when Rum, Scotland, was declared the winning location.

Budleigh Carnival Club, which will be taking part in the town’s returning procession next month, held a stall at the annual event.

Also setting up stalls was Budleigh in Bloom and Friends of Budleigh Library. There were also cake stalls and live music on the town’s sea front.

A spokesman for the Budleigh’s Lions Club thanked all the organisations who took part, and those who supported the event.
