A presentation evening held by Budleigh in Bloom recognised the winners of the charity's summer competition and the volunteers who contribute throughout the year.

Budleigh in Bloom has held its annual presentation evening, recognising everyone who has helped the upkeep of the town’s flower beds.

The event held at Peter Hall saw awards handed out to the winners of the charity’s summer gardens’ competition.

It was also an opportunity for Budleigh in Bloom to thank sponsors, donors and volunteers for the contribution through 2017.

The awards were presented by chairman Chris Ireland, competition judge Janice Hindley from Bicton College and deputy town mayor councillor Tom Wright.

Budleigh in Bloom also took the opportunity to say goodbye and thank you to two volunteers who are stepping down.

Mike Allsopp and David Winter were thanked for their long service after looking after the flower bed at Rolle Street car park and the boat by the fishermen’s huts on the beach.

The charity is calling on green-fingered friends to come forward as volunteers to replace them.
