The owners of Pooh Cottage Holiday Park is appealling against the district council’s refusal to grant permission to store up to 47 caravans. Read this and more.
ROBBERY: An IPhone and money was taken during a robbery involving two groups of youths on The Green, Station Road. Call 101 if you have any information, quoting KE/11/2919.
ROADS WORKS: There will be temporary road closures in Budleigh Salterton early next year for utility works. Cricket Field Lane will be closed from January 16 to 19, West Hill Lane on February 16 and West Terrace on February 23.

APPEAL LODGED: The owners of Pooh Cottage Holiday Park, Bear Lane, have lodged an appeal against the district council’s refusal to grant permission for change of use of land to store up to 47 caravans. The caravans would have been stored over the winter, but planners had concerns about highway safety, an increase in traffic and that the plans would not suit an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

SCOUT HUT theft: A burglary at the Scout Hut in Halse Hill Lane resulted in a four-wheel cart and camping stoves being stolen. Call 101, quoting crime reference KE/11/2933, if you have any information.
BUNGALOW PLAN: Town planners have backed proposals for a two-storey extension and conservatory at 2 Tidwell Close. Councillor Tom Wright said the home was on such a slope that, even if the extension was built, it would still look like a bunglow. He said: “I know that sometimes this council has not been comfortable with bungalow conversions, but I think, in this case, you will still see a bungalow.” The plans will be considered by district planners.

PLANNING APPROVAL: A plan to extend an outbuilding in East Budleigh, at Lydney, 8 East Terrace, has been approved by district planners.
ATTACK appeal: A man walking home from the pub was attacked on The Green, Station Road. Police say that the attack, which resulted in actual bodily harm, was unprovoked. Call 101, quoting crime reference KE/11/2988, if you have any information.
BURGLARY: A burglary at a home in Moormead led to numerous items being stolen, including a mobile phone and jewellery. Entry was gained through the conservatory. Call 101, quoting crime reference KE/11/3086, if you have any information.
