Budleigh Salterton Town Council agreed to donate cash towards St Peter's Primary School's Christmas fayre on Friday, November 24.

Father Christmas will be the latest beneficiary of a Grant Aid donation from Budleigh Salterton Town Council.

At a meeting, councillors agreed to donate £150 towards a grotto for St Peter’s Primary School’s Christmas fayre.

The money will go towards the purchase of gifts for the grotto at the event being held on Friday, November 24.

In requesting the donation on behalf of the St Peter’s PTA, Jen Mills said that 125 gifts are usually provided for the fair, which raises cash for the school.

The council was also asked to consider pledging a donation towards an annual children’s cycle competition.

The event, organised by The Lions Club of Budleigh Salterton, forms part of Gala Week, which runs from Saturday, May 26, to Sunday, June 3.

Town councillors agreed to the £150 donation, which will come out of the 2018-19 budget.
