Budleigh Salterton Dollshouse and Miniaturists Society members are show casing their creations at A la Ronde, in Exmouth

The group is exhibiting a variety of picture-framed miniature scenes created by members of the society on Saturday September 25 at Exmouth’s A la Ronde.

Artist Avril Hammer said:‘”Our Dollshouse and Miniaturist Society is a small group of enthusiasts who meet once a month at Knowle Village Hall.

“For this exhibition we are displaying a variety of picture-framed scenes in containers of different shapes and sizes.”

Asha Kuczynska, from the Nationa Trust property, said: “These miniature works of art are full of intriguing detail - just as A la Ronde contains many tiny and delightful surprises.

“It seems particularly appropriate to support this local group as it cannot be overlooked that this exhibition would hold great appeal to the Parminter cousins who themselves designed a unique house and spent their time creating and enhancing a highly individual interior using their flair and creative talents - the end result being an enchanting little house born of their imagination.

“With skill, patience and great attention to detail the Budleigh Salterton Dollshouse Society have similarly produced an imaginative collection of framed set-pieces, capturing the atmosphere, style and fashions of days gone by - a snapshot of history showcased in a portrait setting.”

The exhibition, in the tea room, runs from Saturday September 25 until Wednesday October 6, from 10.30am until 5pm, excluding Thursday and Fridays. Entry is free.
