East Devon District Council planners have approved a propsal to turn a first-floor Budleigh flat into a dentist surgery.

A planning application to change the use of a first-floor Budleigh Salterton flat into a dental surgery has been given the green light.

An application had been entered, for the property in Station Road, to provide further accommodation for the existing dental practise on the ground floor.

Previously, Budleigh Salterton Town Council supported the plans and despite objections from a neighbour, East Devon District Council (EDDC) planners have now approved the application.

The council’s delegated report said: “It is not thought that the level of intensification of the use that would result from them would be such as to materially or detrimentally affect the overall character of the area.

“While it is presumed that the expansion would enable the practise to register more patients this would not cause harm or otherwise impact upon the character or appearance of either the site or the surrounding area.”
