I would suggest the ideal site for a seafront restaurant in Budleigh Salterton is the front, ground floor of the Budleigh Salterton Club, whose bricked-up windows are surely an everyday insult to the town's beautiful environment. There could be several advantages in Brent and Jane Hushon negotiating a suitable commercial deal with the club. They would achieve their ambition of running a high-class restaurant at much-reduced capital outlay, and with less financial risk. The club would gain an enviable new facility. Budleigh Salterton and its visitors would gain a well-sited, all-weather restaurant, proven to stand up to winter storms. The residents of Marine Parade could breathe again, their enviable sea-views assured. There should be few problems with planning permission. And we could all live happily ever after.Just an idea.J Stuart Yerrell,51 Granary Lane,Budleigh Salterton.
