A section of Budleigh Salterton’s coastal path was closed to the public for a day while inspections were carried out on the cliffs.
East Devon District Council (EDDC) carried out ‘routine’ inspections on the east cliffs, below Coastguard Hill and Salting Hill, on Friday (March 31).
An EDDC spokesman said: “The works involves rope inspection of the cliff face, maintenance of rock netting where present, and removal of some vegetation and loose material.
“During these inspections, members of the public are kept away from the foot of the cliffs, including closure of walkways where necessary. At Budleigh, disruption to the walkway is typically limited to one day only and people can still safely walk along the adjacent beach.”
