Budleigh Salterton Town Council is holding its first ever council surgery from 10am until noon on Saturday June 28 at the Public Hall.

The surgery is being held to give Budleigh residents the chance to meet their town, district and county councillors, to discuss any issues or concerns relating to the town.

If the surgery proves a success it will be held on a monthly basis.

A police representative will also be on hand to answer any questions.

The council said the public will be able to speak in confidence to members and hopes the new service will be widely used by residents and traders.

Budleigh Salterton council clerk Jo Vanstone said: "This is an opportunity for residents of Budleigh Salterton to speak informally to members of the town council, district and county councillors and a representative from Devon and Cornwall Constabulary about any subject that concerns them - it doesn't matter how trivial it may seem we will do our best to help.
