Brixington’s Sue took to the saddle and won a bike

AN EXMOUTH woman has won a bike, after she signed up to the Cycle Devon Programme.
Sue Stoneman signed up in September and was encouraged to ‘get on her bike’.
With the new cycle track open from Lympstone to Exton, she was soon clocking up the miles.
By signing up, she had the chance to be entered into a monthly draw to win a new bike and was the lucky January winner.
She said: “I am really delighted with my win; I shall certainly be out more, especially now I have a lovely new bike and accessories. Exmouth is a great place to cycle, the cycle tracks are fantastic and the scenery and wildlife wherever you cycle is superb. I also feel a lot safer on the cycle track; the Exeter Road into Topsham is quite a narrow and busy road to cycle on. I am looking forward to being able to cycle all the way into Exeter and exploring further afield.”
The Devon Cycle Programme is a cycle scheme run by Devon County Council, where you can find out lots of information about cycling in Devon!
Chris, from Knobblies Cycle Shop, in Exeter Road, helped Sue with choosing her bike; a Giant ladies mountain bike, ideal for the cycle trips Sue is currently doing, and managed to get some bike accessories as well - thanks to the Devon County Council Programme.
Exmouth Cycle Hire is also involved in the programme, which has encouraged many cyclists to get their bikes out and get pedalling.
